While on the subject, and as I take it you also teach level 12, is your term different to last year's ? The level 12 grade at my international school ended on July 13th. I have been asked back to teach next term, which begins on Oct the first. Two and and a half months. WTF? Last year I was teaching there in early September. Any ideas or comments on this ?
Actually I teach to the Korean school calendar, so I can't help you there. We've just had the 4-week summer vacation, returning last Monday.
Koreans, eh ? Tough audience. Did that during my 20 years teaching in Jakarta.

Yep, it's their way or ... no, actually, it's only their way! Fortunately the school loves me and I love it, so we're good. Coming from Australia it takes some time to adjust to small children (and older ones) showing genuine respect and bowing - once you realise it's genuine, and you return the respect, it's a cool environment. Annyeonghaseyo!
Bodge: This ain't Kansas, and the neighbours ate Toto!
