Chinese Development Eyes Up Kampot, Kep and Koh Kong
Chinese Development Eyes Up Kampot, Kep and Koh Kong, Along With Sihanoukville
Phnom Penh: New projects for the construction of high-rise buildings in Preah Sihanouk province have begun to emerge. The other has announced that the next step will make the province more attractive for investment and tourism. This progress is due to the policies of the Royal Government of Cambodia, a one-way road policy and China's Maritime Silk Road Policy, which is attracting a lot of Chinese investors and tourists.
According to Li Min, who is investing in a project on Victory Beach, Sihanoukville, the town will become the largest seaport and the second largest city in Cambodia after Phnom Penh and the construction of new buildings will continue in response to rising Chinese investment and tourism.
"Many of the international direct ventures in this city are changing the look through development into an international city with beautiful beaches, 5 star hotels, shopping centers, top entertainment areas and high end restaurants.
At the same time, under the close cooperation between Cambodia and China, the Chinese side has identified four coastal provinces in it’s maritime strategy: Koh Kong, Sihanoukville, Kampot and Kep Provinces and the coastal corridor road from Koh Kong to Kep Province will begin construction.
According to a report by the Department of Land Management, Urbanization and Construction in Sihanoukville, the construction of a smaller building in 2017 has increased by nearly 30% compared to last year.
The rise of building work also affects the public order and the environment. Constructors must comply with the instruction of the authorities, and provincial officials.

KK is well under way. Not so much in town but there's a hell of a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes at the beach and a couple of islands, from what I hear.

Koh Kong does seem slow progress. Although the dragons project down the coast is around it's 10 year stage, soon, now the rent will due.Bob tailcat wrote: ↑Mon Aug 06, 2018 3:29 pm The writing is definitely up on the wall for Kampot to see.. It seems slow progress in the area. That is apart from Bokor. The Old Casino now hotel. I was up there last year when the project was just starting.
Room half board prices start at per night $254 to $1,089.

Massive Chinese developments being built, some look like whole cites going up. Where as 2 years ago it was empty rice fields
Totally 'fucked road, just about the whole way,was better 3 years ago...TO bad their not paying to fix the roads
Only good road in the kingdom runs from PP to Vietnam via Svay Rieng

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Re: Chinese Development Eyes Up Kampot, Kep and Koh Kong
Has the construction for the 40 high shopping mall already started at the river side in Kampot? Probably not a popular opinion but personally would love to have a good mall in Kampot.
just noise, white noise

Hooray, yet another "the Chinese are doing stuff in Cambodia" thread. I'm sure this one will be different than the 14 others.
