Re: Talkin'about the weather.
oil companies are trustworthy. i trade with them regularly so they would not lie i am sure. likewise governments who i pay in order for public servants to have a secure retirement. they all agree.
it is just plain logic.
the formerly great barrier reef and the east coast of florida are just unfortunate coincidences.

Re: Talkin'about the weather.
The GISP2 data used runs until 1950. That means 95 years before present is actually the year 1855. While ice cores are extremely helpful for geologists to say something about climate thousands of years ago, they're useless if they want to say something about more recent climate, like 10, 100 or 150 years ago.IraHayes wrote: ↑Sat Aug 04, 2018 11:51 pm I am having trouble uploading a temp/time graph that covers the last 10k years to debunk the one previously posted.
The link to it is http://jonova.s3.amazonaws.com/graphs/l ... 00-new.png
Even though the graph puts temperature changes in a historical perspective I don't think a graph that stops recording in the year 1855 provides proof human behavior has had no influence on the climate.
Re: Talkin'about the weather.
Well. Before you do please give me chance to comment on each link you have kindly posted.
No.1 ... https://climate.nasa.gov/scientific-consensus/
And top of the page just below that undeniable title of "Scientific consensus: Earth's climate is warming" is that pesky temp graph that only (accidentally I am sure) covers the last 200 years. Please refer to my previous post with a much larger sample dataset. ie. The earth has been hotter in the past and hotter without the help of all those pesky human activities. At best the article, when viewed with the 10,000 year dataset, confirms that the earths climate is always changing and always has.
No.2 ... https://www.sciencealert.com/sweden-so- ... -shrinking
The 3rd paragraph starts with this little nugget
"The height of the mountain constantly varies as the weather changes, but temperatures in Sweden and all across Europe have been especially high this summer."
So we can assume the height of the mountain has been lower in previous record breaking summer heatwaves. And it gets better as they then go on to say thatt
"I have never seen so much snow that has melted on the south peak as this summer," .... and this person wasn't there to witness the previous record low during the last record high heatwave but they felt best to get every little bit in to prop up the fear.
All this was just with a quick glance at both articles and I am sure with more time I can find a better debunking out there.
Re: Talkin'about the weather.
It shows that the graph so often touted is not the whole picture. It quite clearly shows that the earths climate has undergone rapid temp changes, both up and down, in the last 10k years. This begs the question as to why isn't it used ?? why do people use the one showing only the last 200 years??Kammekor wrote: ↑Sun Aug 05, 2018 8:03 amThe GISP2 data used runs until 1950. The answer is probably because most people wouldn't be as shocked or malleable if they saw it. I believe most would simply shrug and say "looks like natural temp cycles to me" .... and carry on as normal.
Re: Talkin'about the weather.
It was never about saving the planet..... just business as usual in the "lets make as much from this as we can" world. In 2007 at the UN Climate Change conference held at a Bali Beach Resort where 159 countries sent delegates to sip mai tais on the beach and attend an occasional meeting. It was agreed that the rich countries would have to contribute $100 billion to a fund for developing countries. The United Nations would control this money and administer the fund.
At that time it turned out that Louis Redshaw, Head of Environment Markets, Barclays Capital, was leading an effort to issue synthetic securities to trade in carbon credits. It was predicted that the carbon-trading market would top $1 trillion within a decade. You might recall that 2007 was the year that the subprime mortgage financial crisis was starting.
In the last 11 years since that conference, nothing has changed. Climate change has accomplished nothing except as a financial scam

As before, it all comes down to my science is better than your science.
Fake news, belief systems and a stubborn denial make the world what it is today.
Ok. I'll go with you then and ignore what I perceive to be true.
Perhaps the world really is flat, damn!
