This interview is great, he has some interesting obsevations about Robin Williams who played him in the film, considering subsequent events.
I read another interview with him where he said himself and another vet went to see Apocalypse Now in 1979 and thought it wasn't the war they saw and so wrote a different take on it, which eventually became"Good Morning Vietnam".

HBO just aired Robin Williams - Come Inside My Head, well worth a watch if your are a fan.
