It is! Ever tried it? There would have to be a large amount of valour to do that damage. Gas, LPG, I can agree with. Vapour yes is heavier than air and is going to settle at ground level. Vapour from a petrol nozzle filling a car? Fault somewhere else I would think.

From looking at the video it looks like the car was at the GAS pump.

Anyhow I don't really care. So there was another fire and plenty before and plenty will follow.

Khmer press and Facebook are saying the Chinese victim died of the burns today.

EDIT: I also note that the press is all over the place with the facts about this story. In one he is a passenger of a taxi, in others the driver of the car. In all cases though, it is stated that he fired up a cigarette during the fueling process and got burned.

I recall two guys refilling a truck or rocket carrier in Takhmao many years ago, and one guy struck a light to check how full the petrol tank was...bbbbbboooooooooooooom!

Other reports state the Khmer taxi driver died and the Chinese guy is fine, but his cigarette caused the fire. Yup. Khmer press is quite factually accurate.

I wouldn't be surprised if he did die. Looks like he had 3rd degree burns almost everywhere, and that's just asking for a deadly infection or something.

Khmer taxi driver wasn’t smoking and died already. His only crime was pumping the gas in the car.
