Siem Reap: Chinese Tour Guide was also a Drug Dealer
Chinese tour guide nabbed with methamphetamine
July 6, 2018
SIEM REAP - Siem Reap provincial anti-drug police on Wednesday arrested a Chinese tour guide for trafficking nearly 300 grams of crystal methamphetamine.
Provincial anti-drug police officer Major Lim Bunseng identified the suspect as Taing Sary, 36, an interpreter living in Siem Reap city’s Svay Dangkum commune.
“He was a guide who has been selling drugs to foreign tourists,” he said. “He was arrested after our provincial anti-drug police raided his house and found him smoking drugs.”
Maj Bunseng said police seized seven packages of crystal methamphetamine weighing nearly 300 grams as well as drug paraphernalia.
He added that the suspect was being detained at the provincial police station and will be sent to the provincial court today.
The accused is believed to have links to other suspected drug traffickers arrested previously in the province, including to three people arrested over marijuana distribution on April 7 and another four arrested on April 11, also for marijuana distribution.
