A Booze Thread.

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

A Booze Thread.

Post by Kung-fu Hillbilly »

Not being a highfalutin whiskey drinker type sees me enjoying/relegated to house whiskey (read the cheapest) more often than not with a Johnnie Black for those times I'm feeling "Hollywood". My brother in law returned today from a European trip where he availed himself of a bottle of King George V which I was invited to share in. I've had the occasion to have a nice scotch once or twice but can't ever remember having such an experience as I have just enjoyed. I found the whiskey to be a little peaty and as warm and smooth as I have ever had. An absolute delight to drink.

What's in your favorite glass?

This evenings rather splendid King George V.

A "dram" ? sound like a Scot, Irish or Limey talking.
Water quenches the thirst, alcohol releases the truth.

With the delicate chainsaw on the throat...

I prefer Islay whiskies if I'm drinking it neat. Maybe Maker's Mark if it's bourbon we're drinking. I'm more of a volume drinker though so if it's spirits I prefer a G&T or V&T.
