Foreign Man's Wife Held Up at Gunpoint When she Drives Home Alone

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Phnom Penh: On June 28 at 2:30 am, a 40 year old woman, Srey Mom, who works at Sorya Mall, was robbed on street 371 when she returned home alone after a quarrel with her foreign husband.

The victim said that she and her husband went to Sorya Mall to watch a World Cup football match. They ended up having an argument, and so she rode the motorbike back home alone and her husband took a taxi.

On the way back, the woman was attacked by a gang on thieves on two motorbikes, who forced her to stop and kicked her to the ground. One of the thugs, pointing a gun at her head, said he would shoot her if she screamed. Then they made their escape, taking her motorbike.
The distraught victim was assisted by a good samaritan who had witnessed the entire incident. He took her the police station to file a report.

Then the police took the victim back to the scene of the crime so that she could show them where it happened.

I'm guessing they mean Golden Sorya Mall / "Phnom Penh Pub Street"? Classy place to bring your wife, no wonder they had an argument.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

I believe her story, I really do.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

stf away from 371 at night. 271 gets dodgy enough towards the road to the airport, but 371 is a nightmare.

Is it just my impression, or are there more guns being used in these types of robberies ? And more guns seem to be reported in the news generally ?
More guns, or more reporting ? Same with the increasing numbers of bag and phone snatching incidents reported in (mostly) Phnom Penh.

No, I don't think there are more guns or snatchings, just more reporting. And bag snatching is very common in SR but maybe there are less reporters there.
