Transport Tuk Tuk Sales/cart from PP to SR

Post by james1234 »

I will start my project in Siem Reap in November. I bought a Tuk tuk / sales cart in Phnom Penh. Does anyone have a suggestion how to transport the Tuk Tuk from PP to SR?

It is a Solar Tuk Tuk and can only drive 50 km so driving it will take 6 days

Any suggestions?

You could take it by train.

Just have to wait for the line to be built though.

*actually trains are supposed to start from PP to Poipet on 4 July. Maybe you could take it to Sisophon and drive from there?

Considered paying a trusted person to bus down to PP and drive it back to SR over a week?

My options:
On Flat back truck. Trying to find a truck with driver
By boat over the lake. Could be an option. Trying to find out whether that is possible.
By train seems difficult. Can a tuk tuk be put on a train? And Sisophon is more than 100 km from siem reap.

Thx for the input!

There is an Australian guy called Norm who ships motorbikes etc to and from Siem Reap/Phnom Penh on a truck. His contact number is 095610817. You can discuss rates/options with him there.

You can on the SHV line, but in hindsight you can't unload cars at the intermediate stations (Takeo/Kampot), only at PP and SHV, and no idea what they are planning in this regard for the Poipet line. But it would be cheap at least. It's only $14 to take a car to SHV. But then as you say still 100km from where you want to go.

So a truck would be the most convenient of your options. You could try posting on the Phnom Penh Expats FB group as well.
