Are there riots expected ?

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Post by beaker »

Just saw over 100 cop?s/soldiers?, in dark green almost black uniforms, with full riot gear, (helmets, shields, batons, etc) practicing in a field near the prison here in Ta Khmao.

29th should make for good photos ,
the last election was rather tame, but loved the groups of kids out on bikes with banners,

Curious if this election will draw the same numbers of voters or if many will stay at home as its pretty much a shoe in

tried to post some images but.....the imgur is not working for me
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

There will not be any riots of any consequence.

Growing middle class, loads of money floating around, factory workers earning higher wages, better infrastructure.

I got stuck in one of those rally’s near the old freedom park when I was moving from Score to the Parrot one night. Ended up staying and getting absolutely hammered with a bunch of khmer guys. Was a fun night. When I finally turned up at the parrot I could barely stand.

Is there anything to riot about? Any CNRP stuff will get you banged up.
