Three Thieves Arrested after Snatching Bags from Australian and Chinese Women Tourists in Phnom Penh
Phnom Penh: A gang of three bag snatchers made two attacks on foreign women tourists in Phnom Penh on June 12, 2018. The first time, the thieves snatched a bag from a 70 year old Australian woman tourist at 10 am, and then later that day, they snatched a phone from a Chinese woman at 3 pm.
The three thieves, Chan Chamreoun, 26 years old, Khoun Vuthany, 22 years old and Ros Chansophea, 35 years old, were arrested on June 13, at 777 coffee shop in Sankat Beung Kok, Khan Cham Kamorn, Phnom Penh.
Following the arrests, the police confiscated 2 motorbikes(Suzuki Nex and Honda Scoppy),3 packets of drugs, some drug-using equipment, 2 phones(iPhone5 and Nokia) and other evidence. The suspects have been detained prior to their case appearing before the court.

The bag snatching epidemic continues. Another Phnom Penh bag-snatcher has been caught in the act while robbing tourists.
Phnom Penh: On June 17 at 10 pm, a suspect was detained after snatching a bag from a couple of foreign tourists who were walking on the street in the tourist area of Khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh.
The suspect rode up on his motorbike to snatch the bag from the foreign woman, then drove off, trying to escape. But the police, alerted by the victim's cries, gave chase and detained the suspect immediately.
After that, the suspect was taken to the police station for questioning while the victims filed a complaint

Phnom Penh: The Phnom Penh Gendarmerie sent a suspect to court in the morning of 20 June 2018 for the theft of a bag from a couple of foreigners which occurred on 17 June in Daun Penh district, Phnom Penh.
The arrest of suspect Tang Ratha followed a complaint from a foreigner named MATHILDE SPERRY, that a man on a black Honda 125 motorbike snatched her bag while she was walking in the street on the evening of 17 June.
