Been here a week. What an overpriced shithole.

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Thanks OP. A great travel story that you can tell your grandkids; plus I needed a good laugh! LOL. What's next on the itinerary? A $5 beer? Keep in touch, you're killing us....

@OP
You need to check out some other places. Last time I had a "slider" in PP it was $1 a piece at Sundance on St 172, beer was $1, and there was live music thrown in. Have a look at the food forum here, might give you some ideas: getting-your-fill/
And feel free to ask the expats things like 'Where can i find decent Mexican food for under $5 '? Or 'best place for Khmer street food?'. Ask, and you will see what you get.
And I'm sure someone will give you the address of a decent barber if you ask nicely. :head shot:

Use the common sense! Avoid touristic areas because all the prices will be doubled, tripled or even worse. You can eat like a king in restaurants where all the locals go. Usually one dollar or even less. Shamefully, the khmer food is not as tasty than thai but it goes. And if you do as the locals, you can save big money.

The more money you have the more you pay.

If OP was poor he woulda spend 5 minutes extra and sniffed out the nearest bai sach chrouk for 3000 riel instead of splurging 6$ on BK.

True, but if he was wasn't poor he wouldn't be complaining about a couple of dollars, we've all been scammed a little at one point. What ever happened to marking it down to experience and moving on.
God I'm getting old.

From the paraplegic midget. Although the quality is very iffy. And I needed to go to a high end salon to save what was left afterwards. And it was $3.99.
And then $25 to fix the damage.
