Hay Fever
Hay Fever
Do any of you suffer from hay fever?
Do you suffer with it the same in Cambodia as you did back home?
I've only ever been in SEA between the months of November and April so I think I wont have experienced the grass and tree pollen seasons there.
Thanks in advance for you responses.

From the chat there it seems like people suffer in November. I wonder which pollen is in season then.

Re: Hay Fever
Maybe of help, or not, but I've been taking cetrizine for as long as I can remember, for typical allergies to shit like dust, grass, pollen, mold, etc.
It has definitely helped, no doubt.
Then, about 9 months ago a pharmacist recommended trying a new one. Why not?
They recommended desloratadine.
I must say, that has made a MAJOR difference. I have a lot less congestion, and it definitely doesn't make me drowsy at all.
Just to test it out, I went back to cetrizine a month back, and sure enough, it isn't as good. More congestion and sinuses more runny. I swear I even felt a bit drowsy in the mornings as well.
Went back to desloratadine after a few days.
Different drugs work differently for different people, but I think it's worth trying desloratadine for anyone who's been using cetrizine. It could be a game changer for you.
Never try, never know.

Re: Hay Fever
I'll check that out, thanks.
Do you know which months are the worst for the grass and tree pollen there?
In Britain, June and July are the worst months for me but symptoms can come anywhere from the end of March right through to August.

For me, it's whenever the weather is hot and stuffy. I'm always 1000X better when near the sea. No idea which months those are.hburns wrote:I'll check that out, thanks.

At certain times of the year, I have sneezing fits in the evenings. I had a mango tree outside my balcony for the past 2 years, and I blame the mangoes flowering. It could be other flowers around the same time too. I just found an article that might justify my beliefs. Mangoes A Bloomin` Pain For People With Allergies

Which is why you chose to work in the ONLY country with NO rivers and hundreds of miles from the sea, right? Doh.General Mackevili wrote: ↑Thu Jun 07, 2018 6:32 pm I'm always 1000X better when near the sea. No idea which months those are.
