Macau Legend fresh casino venues in Cambodia, Laos: CEO
30 May 2018
Hong Kong-listed casino services firm Macau Legend Development Ltd will soon disclose its proposal for a so-called integrated resort – a venue containing a mix of casino space and non-gaming facilities – in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

So said on Wednesday the firm’s co-chairman and chief executive David Chow Kam Fai (pictured in a file photo). He also pledged to “speed up” development of a Laos casino resort project next door to Savan Legend Resorts Hotel and Entertainment Complex, the firm’s current operation in that country.

Speaking at the company’s annual general meeting, Mr Chow said Macau Legend was purchasing land to develop the gaming resort project in Cambodia. He added it was an “ongoing process” involving the help of an “international law firm”.

“The purchase [of land] is almost completed. Regarding important issues such as project size and other related questions, I believe we will be able to disclose those thing in two to three months’ time,” Mr Chow remarked, referring to the Siem Reap scheme. He did not give further details of its facilities.

Wasn't there some agreement with Naga not to build casinos within a certain distance of Phnom Penh? Or is Siem Reap far enough away?

Just wondering.......

Thx for the 200 Km info..... Doing a quick eyes on map it looks like SR is just outside of 200 Km.... Also looks that Battambang may be outside the 200 Km, however I don't remember seeing casinos there (may be there, but didn't see in my 4 days there in march).

Does Sianoukville (sp) have any official casinos, or are the all underground Chinese internet deals? Its in the 200 Km limit?

I would have thought with the temple's there, gambling would not be allowed.

The licence grants Ariston the right to conduct casino gaming activities in Cambodia for a period of 70 years from January 2, 1995, with an additional exclusive right to operate a casino in Phnom Penh and the area within a radius of 200 kilometres of the city until 2035, the statement goes on to say.
