Forgive my ignorance, but who conducts a "police autopsy" a trained pathologist?

I doubt that there is a trained pathologist in Sihanoukville, and I suspect a police examination in this case consisted mainly of ruling out any suspicions of foul play. ie. checking for marks on the body and making sure that a suicide would've been technically possible. Police also usually give the approximate time of death.
(NB. I don't have any inside knowledge and this is just IMO.)

Re: British tourist CARL KENDALL commits suicide on Koh Rong Island, Cambodia
Carl Kendall's daughter has commented about this on CEO's Facebook page, saying the autopsy shows it was suicide, and that he's had mental illness, so suicide seems to fit. Very sad.
"This is my dad, he suffered from mental health as a teen, he was visiting friends and traveling for a year, it wasnt a spur of the moment thing, as a family we ask that people please stop mentioning foul play, an autopsy has been done and we know the results, it was suicide and there was no foul play involved x"

Best to the family of this man. It must be traumatic going through this ordeal. He is gone, out of pain - theirs begins.

Memorial events to Doncaster dad found dead in Cambodia to be held this weekend

15 June 2018
Two memorial events are to be staged in Doncaster this weekend to a local dad who was found dead in a hotel in Cambodia.
Carl Kendall, 39, died last month and family and friends have rallied around a massive fundraising drive to help pay for the cost of bringing his body back to the the UK and his funeral.
And tomorrow two events will be staged to help commemorate the dad-of-one who took his life in a hotel bedroom in the south east Asian country.
The bodybuilder was a well-known face as a doorman on the doors of Doncaster's pubs and clubs and the Doncaster's Strongest Doorman competition will be held at Viking Power and Strength from 10am on Saturday.
More than 20 doormen will take part in a variety of strength tests on the day, with money raised going towards the £16,000 cost of Carl's repatriation flight and funeral.
And a music night will also be held at Carter's Bar on Cleveland Street from 6pm, featuring X-Factor finalists Carla May Wainwright and Samantha Atkinson.
Those in attendance will be able to get tattoos in tribute to Carl on the night from a tattoo artist.
All funds raised from the night, which also include an auction and raffle, will go to the appeal. Carl's body has now been returned to Britain.
Carl, who has a teenage daughter and four month old grandson who he had never seen, had battled with mental health issues and depression for nearly 20 years following the death of his mum in 1997.
He had been travelling in South East Asia and was found dead in a hotel bedroom on the remote Cambodian island of Koh Rong on May 30.

Re: British tourist CARL KENDALL commits suicide on Koh Rong Island, Cambodia
Carl Kendall's body has since been repatriated to the UK, but the fund-raising continues because his insurance had expired, and it has cost the family a lot of money to bring his body home.
Repatriating a body from Cambodia is not a good financial option, but in this case the family clearly felt the need to bring the deceased back to the UK, and his friends have rallied round to support them. Carl has a young daughter who has recently had a baby.
Weʼre raising £2,500 to help bring my brother Carl Kendall back from Cambodia.

In memory
Last week, at just 39 years old, my brother, Carl Kendall lost his long term battle with mental health. He is currently resting at a funeral home in Cambodia. Carl leaves behind a loving family including a 19 year old daughter Amy and a 4 month old grandson Mylo.
The cost of bringing Carl home and laying him to rest is a staggering £11,000. His insurance expired two weeks ago so we need to fund this ourselves.
My brother was larger than life, at over 6ft tall and built like a brick s**t house he clearly got all the testosterone in our family. He was a bodybuilder and doorman in Doncaster who was taking a break and travelling the world.
His friends in Doncaster are holding a 'Doncaster's Strongest Doorman' competition on the 16th June and they have collection buckets at many licensed venues.
This is one of my attempts to raise some money to help the cause. Please help us by supporting this initiative.

And you would be perfectly correct. I can add that to my best knowledge there still isn’t a refrigerated morgue service available in SHV.Anchor Moy wrote: ↑Fri Jun 01, 2018 2:06 pmI doubt that there is a trained pathologist in Sihanoukville, and I suspect a police examination in this case consisted mainly of ruling out any suspicions of foul play. ie. checking for marks on the body and making sure that a suicide would've been technically possible.
