Perhaps, but Morticia was furious with them.pczz wrote: ↑Sat Dec 21, 2019 6:22 pmThat sounds like pretty much any beach in Asia. Tourists, domestic or foreign, only exist to be fleecedFelgerkarb wrote: ↑Wed May 30, 2018 1:18 pm Hugely overpriced for what you get there. The Cambodian beach side vendors of food the worst case. The usual 5 star prices with 0 star service, met with a half smile and shrug. No.

Re: The Kep Revival
I loved going to Kep for a few days to get away from Sihanoukville back in 2017...Tried to find a place to live there when the chinese bought my building..had to settle on Kampot....did not like Kampot and wished I had never moved there. I loved Kep for exactly what these posters don't like..But, much like Thailand, I saw the writing on the wall as I fished off shore and snorkeled and hung out at Koh Tonsay...
I gave up the coast and moved to Siem Reap.
I miss the corner bar on Otres ...I got to go to Koh Rong Samloem before the chinese casino..
Explored Kep...Bokor...but, the monster has arrived.
I loved taking a tuk tuk from Kampot to Kep..renting a boat just for my wife and I and enjoying the water..
Just nowhere to live on my budget...

....“When I came back here,” Lina recalled, “Those houses were filled with corpses. I don’t want anything to do with them.”
ALL those empty villas, walled in grounds are owned by the rich and not for sale

More than just a cafe, the Led Zep is the natural gateway to Kep National Park, with maps and advice available.
Kep’s cafe on the hill
Raksmey Hong | Publication date 22 January 2020 | 23:33 ICT
Nowadays, most of the people don’t start their day without a cup of coffee. The rich dark liquid has become a staple, especially for working people who claim to be not as functional without caffeine in their bloodstream. Its presence has become so prevalent that every corner of the street is laden with coffee shops.
However, for coffee-lovers who have had enough of the bustling noise of the metro, one cafe offers the perfect solution.
Nestled in the 8km trekking trail of the Kep National Park, the Led Zep Cafe offers a place for wonder and tranquility and, of course, a good cup of coffee.
The cafe was founded by now-deceased French entrepreneur Christian Debinut, who spent years exploring and mapping the forested hills of Kep.
Since his passing, Cambodians Srey Pao and Lang Anika took over the cafe and have continued to sustain its operation since.

Re: The Kep Revival
Has anyone done the Kep National Park walk ? Seems to be all uphill. There's a place called Sunset Rock which sounds like a good plan if you took beers and other essentials. I'm lazy, but maybe I could do it next time I'm in Kep, if someone wants to motivate me. (ie. Tell me that it's an easy climb. But, don't BS me or I will get you later.)

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.

Re: The Kep Revival
Inside the eerie Art Deco remains of Southeast Asia’s ‘St. Tropez’
By Paula Froelich

The sleepy coastal town of Kep, Cambodia, was once a playground for the international jet set — its boulevards lined with Le Corbusier and Bauhaus-inspired mansions.
But now, after decades of war and poverty, those majestic villas lie in fascinating and eerie decay.
Kep was founded in 1908 during French colonial rule — and the French and Cambodian aristocrats made it their seaside escape.
They brought in edgy architects from both Paris and Phnom Penh. Three of the most notable were locals — Vann Molyvann, Lu Ban Hap and Chhim Sun Fong, all pioneers of the New Khmer Architecture movement, a mix of modern and traditional Cambodian designs.
Soon, the rich filled the new town with stunning buildings that wouldn’t have looked out of place in South Beach or Havana — anomalies in a country known for curved pagodas.
After colonialism ended in 1953, Cambodian Khmer elites filled Kep — moving into the mansions and building a few of their own. King Norodom Sihanouk, the head of state, picked a cliff overlooking the Gulf of Thailand for his summer villa.
And the glitterati — Jackie Kennedy, Catherine Deneuve and so many others — came to swim, play, gamble and race cars. They even gave Kep a nickname, the St. Tropez of Southeast Asia.
