its a Cambodian destination as is is witnessed every weekend with the numbers of khmers siting on the sidewalks, eating and drinking an playing loud music
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

On Thursday, November 10, 2022
By KC Virak
The coastal road from Koh Tonsay tourist port to the gate of Wat Angkol connecting National Road 13-32, which is more than 12 kilometers long, is more than 45% completed.
An official of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Kep province on November 10, 2022, said that this 12-kilometer coastal road is an infrastructure project, at a cost of about 10.5 million dollars under a bank loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The construction of this coastal road started from Koh Tonsay port to Angkol village, Angkol commune, Damnak Changel district, Kep province to connect to National Road 13-32.
Mr. Vov Sokha, Deputy Governor of Kep Province, has said previously that the construction of this coastal road project should be completed on time as planned, or even earlier, by the middle of 2023. This road is being built to promote the growth of national and international tourism to the coast of Kep which will provide benefits for the whole province.

Re: The Kep Revival
it also appears that they are in the process of starting to widen the road between Kep and Kampot
been building new sidewalks along 33 ( from the beach up 3 kms) Yet the new "beach" remains dirt

Re: The Kep Revival
What is going on a Kep's Phnom Angkol ? Officials are playing the blame game, as the mountain gets mined by a private trader named Mam Samnang.
Kep Governor Angry Over Illegal Phnom Angkol Mountain Land Grab
Cambodia News, (Kep province): The Governor of Kep Province has strongly criticized the Director of the Department of Mines and Energy of Kep Province in connection with the case of a trader named Mam Samnang, who has built a 90-meter-wide border around Angkoul Mountain in Angkoul Village, Damnak Chang Eur District, Kep Province.
According to the memorandum of the Kep Provincial Administration on November 23, 2022, sent to the unit of the Department of Mines and Energy of Kep Province, regarding the case of allowing Mam Samnang to build a border around Phnom Angkol, the Kep provincial governor blamed the director of the Kep Provincial Department of Mines and Energy for her unethical work and for not asking for his advice.
In a reply sent by Mrs. Meas Makara, Director of the Department of Mines and Energy of Kep Province dated November 24, 2022, the Director of the Department of Mines and Energy of Kep Province informed the Governor of Kep Provincial Board of Governors: "In Ang Koul village, Ang Kol commune, Damnak Chang Eur district, Kep province, immediately after receiving your report, I sent a professional officer to inspect the actual location and found that there is no activity in the above area and there is no mineral resource license. In this case, I urge you to simplify the words that I work immorally, as I do not ask for advice with favor.
Please be informed that the physical activity of taking the land of Phnom Dangkol with this land grab by a trader named Mam Samnang, in collusion with some relevant officials, is not licensed by the Department of Mines and Energy."

Look what happened to the Sailing Club. Imagine you open your dream restaurant and the government steals your beach! Just highlights why you should never invest or do business in a 3rd world country.

Re: The Kep Revival
No. It's actually the landowners (partly or full, cannot remember) paying this and in return they get 50 meter long section of the new land in the deal.dave the wave wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 8:00 pm Look what happened to the Sailing Club. Re: The Kep Revival
Why would they want to ruin their property? There is some kind massive structure building infront of their view too. They are out of business now i think. The resort next store is still running.
