How do you expect them to cover it in condos without a big road?

Vao Sokha, Kep provincial deputy governor, on February 24 led a meeting with local authorities and the armed forces to prepare the groundbreaking ceremony.

The provincial administration said the road along the beach is part of the second phase of the Mekong Subregion Tourism Infrastructure for Inclusive Growth Project.

The 11km long road – to be constructed with a width from 9-15m – is expected to be completed in 22 months.

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport said the road will stretch from Kep town to Angkol Beach. ADB also provided $1.6 million to build a new tourism port on nearby Rabbit Island.

someone know something nobody else does?
they seem to be spending huge amounts of $$ in this small province.

Probably building just to build like it's going everywhere else in the country.

It is the only thing they think they can do , so they keep building over and over and over

Or some people need their money out passing through Cambodia

The hilly part of that headland wasn't ideal for large development. So they have "reclaimed" some ocean and with a new beach road there is a lot more real estate. So all sorts of high rise hotels etc will spring up. I'm disgusted myself. They've even started building a big road around the national park on the hill.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

ADB helps Cambodia build two ports
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is supporting Cambodia's Kep province in constructing two standard ports for the fisheries and tourism sectors.
VNA Tuesday, May 03, 2022 18:13

Phnom Penh (VNA) – The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is supporting Cambodia's Kep province in constructing two standard ports for the fisheries and tourism sectors.

Local newspaper Khmer Times quoted Vao Sokha, Kep deputy governor as saying that provincial officials and the ADB working team are working on the projects to establish the ports’ locations.

The work is part of the ADB Sustainable Coastal and Marine Fisheries Project, which has a 100 million USD budget to fund projects in Cambodia’s four coastal provinces, Sokha said.

The project’s 50 million USD cost will come from ADB (10 million USD), the Asean Infrastructure Fund (10 million USD) and form the French government’s development arm Agence Francaise Development (30 million USD).

ADB said that the project will help the fisheries sector to prop up adaptation and mitigation measures specifically tailored to each coastal and marine ecosystem, enhance climate-resilient post-harvest infrastructure, and bolster investment in safe and sustainable value chains as well as financing for marine fisheries management.

Kep province is also building a 1.6-million USD tourism port, located in Koh Tonsay Island, about 4.5 kilometres off Kep province’s coast. The construction is proceeding under the ADB Greater Mekong Subregion Tourism Infrastructure for Inclusive Growth Project Phase II./.

AKP Phnom Penh, May 05, 2022 --
A 6,000-metre-long concrete avenue at the Kep National Park has officially been inaugurated, which will serve the tourism sector in Kep province.

The inauguration ceremony took place on May 4 in the presence of H.E. Say Samal, Minister of Environment, H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimol, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce, and H.E. Som Piseth, Governor of Kep province.

H.E. Say Samal said that the 6,000-metre-long avenue, named "Bopha Prasidh Avenue" will be a tourist attraction for pedestrians and tourists who can enjoy fresh air and green scenery in the park.

H.E. Minister hoped the avenue and the national park will play a key part in boosting the province's economy and in improving the people's living standard.

Kep National Park, established in 1993, covers an area of 66.64 square kilometres. The park includes a small mountain range with tracks and trails which are popular with tourists.
