Nearly 500kgs of Wildlife Freed by Raid on Seila Angkor Khmer Bus
PHNOM PENH - On May 29 at 5 am, the Forestry Administration of Phnom Penh cracked down on illicit transport of nearly 500 Kg of wild animals that were being carried by Seila Angkor Khmer express bus, on road 70, Sangkat Beungkok, Khan Toul Kok, Phnom Penh.
According to Mr. Kang Seyha, director of Forestry Administration of Phnom Penh, his team investigated the case for a week before they raided a Seila Angkor Khmer express bus that was delivering a 421 kg. load of wild animals. During the raid, the bus driver ran away to escape.
As a result of the raid, all the animals in captivity were returned to the Wildlife Alliance Cambodia Organization to be released in the wild. The police confiscated the bus, which is being kept at The Forestry Administration department.

Great.
But perhaps releasing them in the original habitat and shaming the mofos who funded the venture might actually do some better good?

I guess Wildlife Alliance will return them to the safest similar habitat they can. Returning to same place they were poached, back into the lands/hands of the poachers, without adequate policing, may not be the wisest move in insuring their longevity.that genius wrote: ↑Tue May 29, 2018 7:21 pm Great.

I wonder what the animals journey would of been if they hadnt been picked up? Guessing locals are paid a few riel to catch them for a main man. Then what? Do they go to China? By road via Vietnam?

Vietnam would be my guess. And why is Seila Angkor still allowed to operate? They have a reputation for being dodgy.
