Phnom Penh, Cambodia: A 51 year old American man, JOHN EDWARD ECKER, (DOB 06.17.1966), who is a convicted sex offender that was arrested under the name JOHN E ECKER with child porn in Florida, was arrested for living in Cambodia without a passport and being drunk enough to disturb the local people. He was also sleeping on the streets.

On May 19 at 10:04 am, the department of investigations and procedures took JOHN EDWARD ECKER from Wat Phnom police post to the immigration department to follow legal procedures.

There has been a recent crackdown on Westerners, always male, that have become homeless in Cambodia, and they have been getting arrested and deported, and it looks like this trend will continue. It's a big win when Cambodian authorities catch and deport western/foreign sex offenders and deport the back to their home countries.



According to John E Ecker's social media profile, he publicly announced 4 days ago that he was leaving Cambodia and also seems to have spent a lot of time in Sihanoukville.

So, they arrested him, he obviously has no money, the US embassy could care less
what happens next?

Hmmmm, it can't possibly be this John E Ecker from Florida with an almost identical date of birth, can it? What are the chances that someone like that would end up homeless and on the streets of Cambodia...
