Tourist CALVIN HILL Sent to Hospital After Being Found Unconscious in Sihanoukville Hotel Room; Family Wants Answers

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

A foreigner, likely a British tourist, Calvin Hill, was found unconscious in his hotel room and rushed to hospital and is now on life support. His mother is with him and they are currently trying to hunt down a British man he was last seen with to find out what could have led to him being in such bad shape and unresponsive. The place he was found in is called One Stop Hostel and they asked for the CCTV security footage, but I guess they found him more than 5 days ago, because they say the video is deleted after 5 days, which they don't have now. While it seems most likely Calvin's condition is a result of a drug overdose, they also say he had a head wound, so aren't ruling out the possibility of an attack.

Or he fell of a moto, banged his head, staggered back to his hotel and collapsed as concussion set in. I would be checking for a subdural hematoma, these are life threatening!

Note:If you sustain a major brain injury, this area can fill with blood and cause life-threatening symptoms. This is called an acute subdural hematoma. It’s the most dangerous type of subdural hematoma.

Acute subdural hematomas are usually caused by:

a car accident
a blow to the head
falling

Acute subdural hematomas form quickly, and the symptoms appear immediately. About 50 to 90 percent of people who develop acute subdural hematomas die from the condition or its complications.

I'm guessing your typical drug overdose. The wound on his head was first diagnosed as a "mosquito bite" from the doctors, but they are probably the same doctors that rule everything a heart attack.

I would chk the hotel he stay first if they got sth to do with his injured and try to hide sth? How can a cctv now aday can store only 5day data and delete it? With a very few hundred dollars a cctv system can store data up to 1month with HD quality (yes even u have an option to delete data after 5 day or a week but why would u do that?). Some hotel cant be really trusted.

HD video storage is what? 2 GB per hour? So you'd need 48 GB to store a day's worth of video. 1 TB to store a month's worth. That's just for one camera. If the guesthouse had 10 cameras, then it would need 10 TB of storage. Cambodian guesthouse owners won't even pay $4 for a bottle of drano to unclog the toilets. They don't have high tech video storage capabilities like the surveillance room at the Bellagio.

There's no reason for a guesthouse system to record and save a month of videos, because 99.9% of the time, if something unusual or criminal happens, they are going to hear about that at the time or the next day.

I personally think that the people suggesting online that the kid was the victim of foul play and/or that the hotel was hiding something are doing the family a disservice. It's likely a common drug overdose or drunken fall.

A British backpacker who got sepsis after a mosquito bite has been stuck in a hospital in Cambodia for more than two months, his family has said.

Calvin Hill, 27, from Ammanford, Carmarthenshire, came out of a coma and has been declared fit to fly by hospital staff, according to relatives.

They want him home soon amid concern his condition could deteriorate.

But his insurer Flexicover said it did not want to put Mr Hill at any "unnecessary risk".

Mr Hill's mother Tracey said he was found "not breathing properly" by roommates at a hostel.

Shortly before the collapse, he had complained of "feeling groggy" after being bitten by mosquitoes, she said.

Flexicover has agreed to pay for Mr Hill's treatment and fly him to a facility in Thailand before he makes the 14-hour flight back to the UK.

Gee he's been lucky.
Despite what angsta states, it’s clear from reading through his posts that angsta supports the free FreePalestine movement.

He doesn't look like your typical swarthy, cottage-burning dwarf
