Watch out; lots of Cambodian Public Holidays in May
Lots of public holidays this month, so bear in mind that Cambodian administration will be closed on these days ie: permits, visas, going to the bank etc.

Re: Watch out; lots of Cambodian Public Holidays in May
Another one to watch out for. Day of Remembrance falls on Sunday 20 May this year, so presumably Monday 21 May will be a public holiday ?

May 20, 2018 in Cambodia
Day of Remembrance in Cambodia is observed on May 20, 2018. The day formerly is called the National Day of Hatred, and takes place annually. However, the more correct translation of the day would be "Day of Tying Anger" or "Day of Maintaining Rage" The holiday commemorates the excesses of the Khmer Rouge regime that ruled the country between 1975 and 1979.
The day was first launched in the People's Republic of Kampuchea (PRK) on May 20, 1984, after it was initiated by a September 12, 1983 conference in Phnom Penh, which about 300 intellectuals and clergymen attended. The date marks the initiations of mass killings in Democratic Kampuchea on May 20, 1976.
The Day of Remembrance in Cambodia is still celebrated in Cambodia, although the commemorations lost much of their prominence. However, still commemorations are held, such as public theatre plays about the Khmer Rouge period. Some people also visit Buddhist ceremonies that day.

Re: Watch out; lots of Cambodian Public Holidays in May
Enjoy those long days off, unfortunately there are only 2 public holidays in June (Children's day on the 1st and the Queen Mother's birthday on June 18th). Then none in July or August and just one day ( 24th is Constitution day, widely celebrated here) at the end of September.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
