Traditional snooping and hacking methods require actual snooping and hacking. A phone a with dedicated chip that reports everything to the police requires very little effort by the central authorities.

While this is possible in theory, don't you think it would be detected fairly soon? Battery life of a phone like that would be pretty lousy due to the extra chip, data consumption would be noticeably higher, to name a few.

Do any of you remember Stephen King in his own movie, "Creepshow?"

He plays a swamp dweller (Cajun?) in the South, then a meteorites crashes into his swamp and a mutant fungus plant form begins to grow on and absorb him.

Hilarious, when he realizes the spread of the plant form spreads to his genitals, "Oh, no, not there!"

This pic reminds of that scene in "Creepshow."
