Tuesday Morning Photo

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Worldwide fame we can do without:

Some places in SHV, mostly western run, are using biodegradable take away boxes, but this is a drop in the ocean.
I used to live across the road from a restaurant where I would bring my own plate for takeaways instead of using polystyrene. I hate that stuff. Also have to fight against vendors at the market wanting to put every little thing in a plastic bag, even if I have a carry bag, and my laundry always comes back wrapped in plastic. Don't see how that can be avoided ?
And despite making an effort, I still end up with plastic and polystyrene - a bit less maybe, but still too much.

A charge on polystyrene would probably not stop locals bring their food to the beach in such packaging ..
No, just threw out of the window my Oishi plastic bottle as I am riding along to Vientiane. Anyone want to change that? Actually part of why I am here.
