nagaworld

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. nagaworld

Post by Dcracken »

Reading up a bit more on Nagaworld. Considering staying there in Nagaworld 1. I understand it caters to a mostly Asian demographic, but how would that effect me as a westerner? It seems they have solid restaurants, entertainment, nightlife, plus the famous Darlin Darlin Lounge.
Reviews I have read are generally good but was wondering what you guys thought?
It seems many just never leave the complex, however i would like to explore the area and get out as well. Is the area safe and walkable? Anything nearby? I would appreciate your views as far as pros and cons in staying there.

Also in the running, Sun & Moon Urban Hotel. Right in the heart of the beast. Amanjaya seems a bit overpriced. Any other places to stay you think would be ideal for a solo traveler, that wants to see it all, let me know.

my Swedish friends always stay at Nagaworld when they are in Phnom Penh, its fine for westerners, although there is a lot of Chinese guests,
Darlin Darlin is ok, its expensive and small, theres far better places to drink, both the Empire Club and Epic Club, both just round the corner, are far better clubs imo, but depends what youre after tbh they arent the places to go if just wanting something a bit quieter, but they are entertaining

yeah, Im not really a fancy hotel kind of guy either, at least when I am in the states. Just trying to take advantage of my dollar going a bit further over
there. Staying in a 4 or 5 star hotel here would be 3 or 4 times the price. Thanks for input, man!

its an ok place to stay, the room i had was quite large and had great views of the river, you get a lot of free stuff staying there with there promotions at times but the room i stayed in had some small maintance issues, bathroom tiles broken,or missing and housekeeping was just ok.i prefer to be a bit closer to the riverside now when i go to pp but its far better than a few of the others i have stayed in that where advertised as 4/5 star but where closer to 3 star.the bast thing about the place is the beautiful ladies working there:)

I've stayed at Sun and Moon. Not a bad place. Nice pool and views. I ate one of the nicest burgers I've had here on the rooftop. I thought it was a fair deal . I stayed at Harmony Hotel. I wouldn't stay there again but I can't put my finger on why. Lux Hotel is very close to the action if you aren't here for the pagodas. wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more.

If you do a search you will see why Harmony Hotel is a bit on the nose.

Hint: Don't turn the mattress...
