Hua Hin: Norwegian man attacked by bull shark (+video)

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

He also advised beach-goers against wearing red or orange bathing suites, or any with a colour or design that resembles the scales of fish
How would that help? Sharks are colorblind.

I don’t know much about sharks but I thought they preferred colder water? Wouldn’t the waters around Pattaya be too warm? I understand bull sharks are different than most sharks though so might explain it.

Not entirely correct; whilst some species do prefer cooler water; other do fine in warm water, including Bull sharks that can tolerate a wide range of habitats.

Hua Hin not Pattaya. Prachuap Kiri Khan.

I think they have problems with bull sharks in Florida too. That wouldn't be too cold there.

Everybody has problems with bull sharks, an obnoxious species.

In SA known as Zambesi shark, because of its habit of swimming up rivers, sometimes over 300 km, and attacking people

Likes warm, shallow water, very aggressive

Wow. I was just swimming there, last month. Albeit, a little bit north of Sai Noi beach. I had no idea they had bull sharks in Thailand waters.

Well, he's lucky then. He could have been bitten by a gator.
