Tips for ethical travel in Cambodia

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

Responsible travel
The dos and don’ts for tourists visiting Cambodia, according to experts
April 12, 2018 | Cambodia
Holidaying in Cambodia invariably creates memories that last a lifetime, but it can also present visitors with tricky ethical dilemmas. Here, some of the country’s leading charitable organisations offer advice on acting responsible while visiting the Kingdom...
http://sea-globe.com/responsible-travel-cambodia/

Their list is very restricted, but easy enough to follow.
1. Elephants DON'T
2. Plastic DON'T
3. Orphanages DON'T
4. Beggars DON'T

There must be many more. Cambodia is full of ethical dilemmas.

it's not ethical to take an aircraft all that distance spewing pollution the whole way just for a holiday. Just stay home and work on the many problems at home or maybe pickup trash along the freeway or help the homeless.

Agreed, in a way. Kind of reminds me of those huge 40-floor hotels in big cities that tell the guests it's their job to look out for the environment by only getting their towels/sheets washed every few days. Kinda passing the buck, if you ask me.

No way! We should be encouraging people to put it on Facebook, and make sure their profiles are public. :stir:
