Tips for ethical travel in Cambodia

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

7. Don't buy birds to release for merit and don't buy tarantulas anymore, they are becoming threatened.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Same with the birds at the pagodas - you buy a couple at the conveniently placed seller at the entrance gate, release them into the ponds in the temple grounds, and the seller quietly collects them all up again for resale the next day. Religious recycling.

Ethical and holiday are two words that should
never be put together. Holiday is a time to sit back, relax, and forget about ethics as well as all the other general problems of the day. As long as laws aren’t broken and locals aren’t offended, have at it.
