I just find it very weird that anybody could even think of defending this.

Smarter, better qualified people than most of us feel the same, hence their attempt to shut it down.

There was a case I read about where some creep who ordered a child-like sex doll from abroad was arrested when he took delivery. He was arrested on a child pornography charge. I'm not sure, but it may have been in Canada. The point being that child pornography charges apply not just to real images of children but also faked/ simulated ones. There was, probably still is, a dude my mate's girlfriend used to work with, who was an early adopter of dolls. There was a tv program on him, on Channel 4 I think, in the early 2000s. Anyhow, apart from having notes around the dolls necks telling firemen not to save them in an emergency, it also became clear that one of them was 14. So everyone at work knew he had an underage baby tears he probably stuck his dick into. Very emotionally attached to the dolls, such that he would shun human contact.
