So common sense is walking around hammered at 3-4 am.kiwiincambodia wrote: ↑Tue Apr 03, 2018 10:31 am I’ve been here 10 years and have never felt threatened once. That’s during the day or walking around absolutely hammered at 3-4 am.
Just keep your wits about you and use common sense.
Sounds legit.

Thanks for the helpful info. Doesn't seem too bad, but not taking a zillion pics with my phone is gonna be tough.
Re: Solo trip to Phnom Penh
Take as many pics as you want, you won't have any problems at all, as long as you haven't got your phone out near the road.
Phone and bag snatches do occur but it' isn't like an epidemic, its really rare when you consider the amount of tourists that visit the country.

Not really by even when hammered I have enough wits about me to be aware of my surroundings. In 10 years and many many nights like that I have never had one issue.that genius wrote:So common sense is walking around hammered at 3-4 am.kiwiincambodia wrote: ↑Tue Apr 03, 2018 10:31 am I’ve been here 10 years and have never felt threatened once. When I first came over here and was doing a lot of work in the province all the village kids used to yell Batista at me every time they saw me.

So if I meet a lady and security is good at hotel and I watch my stuff...think it would probably be cool to bring her to my room?
Thinking of ananjaya or white mansion any recommendation of what’s better as for location, etc. Thanks again for all your advice.

as long as its in line with your hotels policies of coarse there is never a problem, most hotels/guesthouses will probably take the girls ID card as Collateral to put her off attempting to steal anything,Dcracken wrote: ↑Tue Apr 03, 2018 8:29 pm So if I meet a lady and security is good at hotel and I watch my stuff...think it would probably be cool to bring her to my room?

as posters have said, stuff happens here, mainly petty theft, but its no more dangerous than your home country,
just try and keep your wits about you mate and enjoy yourself, and as mentioned by another poster, if you are likely to go out and get trashed, only take out what you plan to spend for the night,
and make sure all your stuff is secure in your room

If heading to Siem Reap ignore any kids saying they 'no want dollar, me want milk' and watch your pockets.
