Fucking Sissy

Have questions or resources regarding Khmer Culture? This forum is all about the Kingdom of Cambodia's culture. Khmer language, Cambodian weddings, French influence, Cambodian architecture, Cambodian politics, Khmer customs, etc? This is the place. Living in Cambodia can cause you to experience a whole new level of culture shock, so feel free to talk about all things related to the Khmer people, and their traditions. And if you want something in Khmer script translated into English, you will probably find what you need.

OK, Jamie, I ran it past her and she knowsq it but considers it a bit too erudite for viilage speak. And no, I have no idea what would be erudite in a village of around 2,000 or so illiterate and semiliterate denizens. She claims the following is more used for garrulous people.

"Baik popus teuk moat."I.e to break saliva bubbles
Quite colorful, but totally unrelated to symptoms of rabies.

Perhaps related to someone who likes to beat their gums.

Interesting word, definitely not Khmer in origin, but yes used. I suspect it was introduced by the Cham. Its originally from Borneo and Indonesia where it's called ta pe. It is also a food with a high alcohol content..
