Re: I almost eventually open a company in Cambodia, but... no!
@bolueeleh keep calm, my comment needs to be taken at face value. I mean : yes, CEO members seems to know well how much taxes a foreign entrepreneur have to pay. What's the problem with that. I am serious. I ask to two offices, they cannot confirm me if yes, or not, I have to pay 20% or less for small profits (EDIT : but want charge me 100$ for advices )
@Kayve nothing, can be. why not ?
@CamNivag you don't like the pic I use to illustrate this topic I was thinking to sell fresh orange juice in the street, but I think the market is flooded already

Tax on Profit is 20%, whether your profit is $5 or $5,000,000. Whether you are foreigner or Khmer. The only tax rate I know for which the % varies is income tax (employer pays for staff), this % rate (10%, 15%, 20%) is based on total monthly salary but there is no income tax on monthly salaries $315 or less and that range probably includes orange squeezers.
Many other taxes may apply to your business. The key thing to know now is that they are actually getting serious about collecting taxes. The new incentive is that tax auditors at the General Department of Taxation get a percentage of any penalties and interest they can collect from a business. Some rumors say it could be as high as 30%.
Now you can send my $100 to ............

Or you could open a bar and never have to worry about tax on profit. And all the girls will have a salary less than $315/month. You might have to ask the taxman whether lady drinks count as salary.

The day is rapidly approaching where bars will be assessed, and it won't be with kid gloves. They may not tax you on the salaries under $315, but they will tax you on profit. This will unfortunately close many bars and restaurants, and the amount of competitors will decrease.
Hello western world in SE Asia, be careful what you wish for.

Thank you very much for your serious replies. It confirm me what I was thinking : as usual, Cambodia doesn't have a good value for money ; overpriced regarding to the quality around but... yes, the atmosphere of the country still beats neighbour countries...
Let's see in which way we are going... -_-

@beerinthemorning thanks for the suggestions. I already lose one year of my life learning Thai (was almost fluent for basic discussions) and all I earn with that is to discover how this people is racist
For the dark lady owning 51% of my company, it will not be possible as a husband of barang wife
Also, I suggest cambodian who want a company to work hard for that and don’t only open legs, which can also be profitable if the lady have power enough
