Bottle and can deposit return scheme gets green light in England

I remember many years ago taking the empty pop bottles back to the shop for a penny or two.

Ah yes, those were the good old days 1957 to 1962 , before aluminium cans when I got one shilling for a dozen large beer bottles and one shilling sixpence for a dozen soft drink bottles.

Look after your pennies and the pounds will look after themselves.
