The sport of gentlemen and Australian cheats

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Ball-tampering row: Australia captain Steve Smith banned for one Test and fined
9 hours ago
Australia captain Steve Smith has been banned for one match and fined his entire match fee by cricket's world governing body for his part in a ball-tampering incident in South Africa.

Smith said the team's "leadership group" had a plan, carried out by Cameron Bancroft, to tamper with the ball to "get an advantage".

Smith, 28, will now miss the fourth and final Test of the series.

Bancroft, 25, was fined 75% of his match fee and got three demerit points.

Smith admitted a charge of conduct "of a serious nature that is contrary to the spirit of the game", said a statement from the International Cricket Council (ICC).

"As captain, Steve Smith must take full responsibility for the actions of his players and it is appropriate that he be suspended," said ICC chief executive David Richardson.

England suspected ball tampering during Ashes, but had no solid evidence
Updated26 March 2018
England had concerns about Australian ball tampering during the Ashes but there was never any solid evidence to take to the authorities.

England were suspicious of how Australia at times managed to achieve reverse swing despite the lush outfields and lack of lateral movement during the series in general. Concerns centred on David Warner polishing the ball at mid-off but the only time anything remotely suspicious was picked up on camera involved Cameron Bancroft in the fifth Test in Sydney.

He was seen spooning sugar into his hand and then putting it in his pocket before going on the pitch.

Sugar granules could be used as an abrasive to help scuff up the ball, but the matter was explained away at the time as an innocent way of a player taking an energy boost on the field in hot, strength-sapping conditions.

How long have they been doing this for and getting away with it?

Aussie cricket is fucked. ICC need to immediately strip them of their world ranking position and even think about stripping their previous World Cup win.

Doing alright at the moment. We are beating England at the moment.... without having to cheat either.

They had some electrical tape and some small bits of grit stuck on it. This was not an angle grinder .
Not like Afridi biting the ball or DuPlies using a mint sweet.
They did not change the ball so why is it now such a big deal.
According to ICC it is no different than running on the pitch or throwing the ball in the dirt to change it.
Storm in a teacup and blown right out of proportion.

You mean they didn’t get the desired outcome this time with the tape and grit.

What about the comments from England during the ashes and the sugar in the pocket (maybe he needed it for his tea on the pitch)? As I said before, we don’t know how long this has been going on when they did get the desired results. Changing the ball knowingly gives the team an unfair advantage.
