2018: Dengue fever figures on the increase

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

That's true. One of the most prolific breeding sites are tires. Moto, auto, truck, doesn't matter. They are everywhere you look around here. I scoured my own property yesterday after the missus complained & found a small container I use for germanating seeds had been wind blown under cover & it had at least a 100 larvae of 1 thru 4 instar. No more than 20cc water & some plant debris. Doesn't take much.

Some dumbass said there was a cholera epidemic in SHV this week. Said his girlfriend told her the doctors said they were treating “100s” for it.

Load of rubbish. Apparently the barang dude doesn’t even live here so she’s probably scamming him for some extra cash! Lol.

If the water wasn’t there in the first place the mozzies wouldn’t be there.

Are they Barang mozzies?
That there is the problem, obviously.

But anyway, existing mozzies will lay their eggs somewhere, so the cunning plan is to encourage them to lay in your perfect nest, which you then destroy.

Getting rid of standing water will end their proliferation in that area. If there’s no standing water there will be no mosquitoes, or at least no breeding mosquitoes.

If everyone followed your logic there’d be shit loads of mosquitoes flying around, attracted by a perf cr place, breeding, and feeding, so they can make more babies.

Good luck with that.

Hello, you change out the water in your honey-pot regularly enough that the larvae never have a chance to hatch.
