Canadia or Aba or ?

Post by Luigi »

Looking to open an account to transfer funds from *USA to here in Cambodia.
Is one better than the other or are there better options with less fees?

General consensus on the million other threads we've had on the topic is ABA.

How's Canadia nowadays? I remember Canadia was always recommended for foreigners a few years ago.

I’m happily banking with them for a few years now, they always update their foreign currency rates at a bit before 9am, something i can’t find on the ABA website. https://www.canadiabank.com.kh/en/exchange_rate.aspx

I have had accounts with both for many years. For me, Canadia has offered the better experience but not by a large distance. Also, I would trust Canadia more in an economic crisis, ABA don't have such deep roots in Cambodia. The bigger MDIs are worth considering when they offer better rates on fixed deposits but they would be riskier than Canadia.

If it's about safety, I'd use ACLEDA. At least it's partly owned by foreign Western banks. And it has by far the largest network in the Kingdom.
