Where to photo-copy / pirate my own book
Where to photo-copy / pirate my own book
Hi Guys. I'm a bit of an old Cambodia hand (93/94) living there and going back for holidays. I remember all those photo-copied books in the markets. Now I'm a writer myself and in the strange position of wanting to pirate my own book. I'm visiting soon for a 3 week family holiday and will bring 10 copies that I printed on-line ( quite expensive - but more to the point I'm limited by how many copies I want to carry). So, if I could pirate my own book by getting it photo-copied it would be great. The idea is not to sell at his point but to leave copies laying around various guest-houses and bars. I'm not too bothered about quality, as long as it's readable. Any idea where I could get this done quickly, cheaply and easily? I only have two days in Phnom Penh before heading south, so looking for a quick and painless experience. Thanks in advance. Oh, and if anyone wants to check out the book ( part set in Cambodia) it's here https://www.amazon.co.uk/Escape-Pleasur ... B06XPGQS5Q

One of my favourite publishing houses.
Can't help with your question I am afraid, although I reckon a soft copy (pdf) of the book would be much easier to print

Has your book been proof read?
Re: Where to photo-copy / pirate my own book
this is photocopy street many to chose from, hard to find elsewhere
Re: Where to photo-copy / pirate my own book
As Colin says, copying printed pages will only add to the production time. Bring a pdf on a USB drive and head to one of the many print shops around town. Around 100៛/page for black and white A4 in low volumes iirc.
Can't recommend any shop in particular, but there's plenty around. but get to a shop early if you want any decent number printed and bound within 48 hours.

Thanks. In that case I may try in Sihanoukville where I have more time. I never understood how they photocopied all those lonely planets and sold them so cheaply in Central Market.

High volume gets you good discounts. I used to get 80 page A4 text books with nice laminated full colour card covers printed for around $1.5 a piece for around 1000 copies in Toul Tom Poungmrspoon wrote:Thanks. You will likely be better off sorting in PP rather than Sihanoukville unless anyone has a reliable contact for you.

Can I also get a text scanned and put into a pdf? The copy shops nearby my place have only old copiers, not much of a help.
