What do you do when you find a Sleeping Cashier? (Kampot Poll)

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. First of all I'd like to say a lot of the cashiers work very hard and unsociable hours. You imagine working from 6 in the evening to 3 or 4 in the morning every night. I personally would be very wary of waking them or and I would never dream of throwing a bucket of water over them. Most of the cashier's I know have boyfriends who would be very angry if someone did it to them.

A male can also be a cashier, it's not gender-specific

Quite possibly your English has let you down if you think that 'cashier' = girls that work in bars and who are not prostitutes.

Check the pic in the OP. Not a girl and not a bar.

Cuddle up and get myself some of what they're having.

I ticked "find a bucket of water" but actually I would wake him/her up. In Cambodian-run businesses, the cashiers usually need to pay out of pocket if the cash comes up short.

It is normal for people who work in their own shops to have a sleep when there are no customers. They expect to be woken up. Normally, Cambodians dont steal from them when they are sleeping.

I'm reminded of this dozing shop keeper and thief.
