I don't think it's originally Cambodian, it's Chinese.
I thought consumption of animal protein by us humans, was happening wayyyy before the Chinese were around?

Yeah, dog's not really my thing either. I far prefer eating pussy.

The way dogs destined for the dog meattrade are treated is horrendous. Often kept hog-tied in tiny confined cages or sacks, with muzzles bound, then beaten to death, usually with a club or a hammer - very barbaric.
A blow torch is used to remove the fur, really is gut-wrenchingly horrific treatment of what many, including myself, consider to be mans best friend.
Quite often they are stolen pets, some are stray village dogs. Their last days/hours would be unbearably cruel, and as intelligent animals, they would be in unimaginable pain and terror.
Links below are not from Cambodia, are from Indonesia, but give an insight as to what goes on in the dog meat industry - from investigations into dogs slaughtered for meat in Bali, East Jakarta and the Tomohon and Langowan markets in North Sulawesi, Indonesia

A friend of mine had a pig as a pet in his backyard. Cute animal and slapping that behind was just something. Like some of the girls in colombia.
