Ever wonder why Thailand is rated so dangerous for motor accidents

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Apparently they live by the credo never look before crossing the street. Some of these it almost seems like they want to get hit, like as if they time it. Rediculous

I feel so sorry for those people being flung a few metres into the air. Even if wearing a helmet, it wouldn't do much as you'd sustain massive internal injuries.
Lots of speedsters and red light runners.

And like the previous poster, looking before you leap would help a lot !

the carefree and cheap nature of this mode of transportation where one just hop on and go leads to a nonchalant attitude towards its usage, hence much accidents, some of the riders truly are just asking for it.

I like how some of them seem like they're not breaking at all.

same in KoW, if i had not looked out for these idiots who didnt even turn their heads or bat an eyelid before merging into a major road from a smaller to check for oncoming traffic, i would have at least 10 fender benders every single fucking day

This and many other displays of utter obliviousness to traffic put me off riding in VN. In Thailand, people kill themselves by being rampantly impatient and driving way too fast.
