Chinese Contruction Workers from Sihanoukville in Pay Protest at Chinese Embassy
Phnom Penh: On February 9, 2018, 40 Chinese construction workers from Sihanoukville held a protest demonstration over unpaid wages outside the Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy at Mao Zedong Street, Khan Chamkamorn, Phnom Penh. Police authorities helped to coordinate traffic and security in the Embassy area during the protest.

Saw an older Chinese man today on Mao Tse Toung yelling from across the street at the embassy in Phnom Penh this morning.

Haha, I had my headphones on and was sitting in the middle of traffic and could still hear him. He was pissed off about something, not the first time I've seen someone yelling at the embassy there either. Then again, the same could probably be said for all embassies, dealing with them is definitely a test of bureaucratic patience.

Are we going to see some protests, in front of French/US embassy, over the price of the pineapple ?

These guys are staunch as construction workers usually are. I remember many years ago about 200 marched from Koh Pic I think to the Embassy. They were flown home soon afterwards.

Re: Chinese Construction Workers from Sihanoukville in Pay Protest at Chinese Embassy
The Chinese construction workers are complaining that they were hired to work for $60 a day in Sihanoukville. However, some have not been paid their wages for 3 months, some for 4 months, and others for 5 months. They are now desperate, which is why they organized a protest in Phnom Penh, where they are calling on the representatives of the Chinese government to intervene.
The name of their employer is not reported here.
