As State of the Union nears, is America great again for the working class?

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

As State of the Union nears, is America great again for the working class?

Donald Trump has painted himself a champion of workers, and will probably do so again next week. But the record tells a different story

accounts from friends and family in Texas and Colorado speak of sub 3% unemployment in their communities. both also mentioned mcdonalds starters getting $11 an hr- far from a living wage, but lots more than they paid in the past- an indication they MUST pay more.

Depends how Trumpy minustry of truth massages the figures. In uk tey get people on apprentuceship for 12 months ay £500 a month to reduce the unempliyment figures, and good old zero hours contracts. If you look at it from the context of people in full time work with permanent cobtracts receiving a living wage the figures probaly look much wors. I am sure the working class eill benefit from reduced healthcare and the rax refirms.if they dont the Donald will alter the figures till they do

sure- could be lots of ppl working 2 jobs to try and make ends meet. i imagine trump has a lot of opponents within the civil service that he will find quite difficult to win over t his agenda.

given this stated low unemployment, i do not see how they will deport the 12-20 million estimated illegals.

Same as uk and brexit. Kick the cheap foreign labour out, lose money when locals won't do the work for peanuts so import cheap foreign labour from some where else like india instead. In fact the NHS already has a recruitment drive going to bring in indian dictors and philippino nurses to rrplace the east european ones leaving. I guess if you change the color of the immigrant you can claim we reduced east european immigration by 90% and just nit mention other immigration went up by the same amount

The NHS has been hiring Flips and Indians for decades, it's nothing new. The Phillipino government complained about it way back in the 90s.

As soon as you're born they make you feel small
By giving you no time instead of it all
'Til the pain is so big you feel nothing at all

A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

They hurt you at home and they hit you at school
They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool
'Til you're so fucking crazy you can't follow their rules

A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

When they've tortured and scared you for 20 odd years
Then they expect you to pick a career
When you can't really function, you're so full of fear

A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

Keep you doped with religion, and sex, and T.V.
And you think you're so clever and classless and free
But you're still fucking peasants as far as I can see

A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

There's room at the top they are telling you still
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill
If you want to be like the folks on the hill

A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

If you want to be a hero well just follow me
If you want to be a hero well just follow me
