Re: Free drinks for CEO members from Alamo Cafe in Phnom Penh
That is a maybe, but thanks, Logos. The restaurant has only been open since January, and we are still trying to determine what hours work best. Our official hours remain 11AM-8PM, Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri, Sat and 11AM-5PM on Thursday. HOWEVER, if we are at the restaurant--which is also our kitchen and general hangout area--and don't already have plans that we can't or don't want to break, if a customer calls or comes by we will be happy to serve them. We'll also stay open for as long as we have customers, within reason. As a result, we are often open until 9PM or a bit later, we are usually open well before 11AM, and we are often open on Sunday mornings and evenings. We're just not promising any of the above, so it is best to just assume we are closed if it is not during our regular hours and then be happily surprised if you call or drive by and we are open. We have a couple of regular customer who usually like to come fairly late in the evenings, and if they are going to be arriving near or after 8PM they just call to notify us and make sure it is OK. The only time I can pretty much guarantee we will not be open is Thursday after 5PM. We have a catering event in front of Samai Distillery every Thursday, and only one person capable of actually running all aspects of either location.
Great food for dine-in, delivery, or take-away. Call 085 540 525.

Good advice: put your times on aboard outside the place, and be done with it. Adjust monthly, not ad-hoc on a day-to day basis. I doubt anybody understands when you are open now.
You are becoming your own enemy, sorry to say, but it's true. I post this as a constructive criticism, I hope to drop by sometime.

Maybe I gave too much information.
Alamo Cafe is open 11AM-8PM, Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri, Sat and 11AM-5PM on Thursday.
If you happen to catch us any other time and we are able to serve you, consider it a bonus. Thanks.

Re: Free drinks for CEO members from Alamo Cafe in Phnom Penh
Last week during my visit I tried this place for the first time, as it opened after I left Cambodia. I went on a Friday around 12:30 for lunch.
I was very disappointed with the food and the service. Admittedly, I had high hopes as I had read and heard a lot good things about the food.
While I was looking at the menu, I was told they didn't have their famous mac n cheese or the croquettes, both things that I was planning on ordering, I was bummed but just found some other stuff to order.
I settled on the jalapeno poppers and the ribs. I ordered both for takeaway. The staff did not ask me whether or not I wanted fries or salad, I assumed they all came with fries but that's also my mistake for not reading the menu so clear. When I got home and opened the boxes, I realized they had both come with salad. A very simple salad that I assume was given instead of fries either because they were out of fries or because its much easier to make a salad. Maybe that's why they didn't ask which one I preferred.
The ribs and the poppers were good. Only downside was that one jalapeno popper had no cream cheese inside, I understand this a small thing but on top of them already being out of their famous mac n cheese and the croquettes, it was annoying.
I'm aware they were closed the previous weekend for a wedding (because I tried to go eat there on that weekend) but surely 4 days after being closed for the weekend they should be able to keep the product in stock.
Im willing to try again next visit and understand this may have been a one-off.

And always remember this..... If it's good... Tell the world. ..
.
If it's bad or your unhappy tell the manager.

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Why? Why not tell the manager if it's good and tell the world if it's bad? That way, you don't have to have an awkward conversation with a possibly defensive, dickhead manager who thinks you're trying to get a free meal.

If it's small bad, tell the manager.
If it's Paddy Rice bad, tell the UN

People should have an opportunity to improve on the back of constructive criticism. Exceptions are big bad, like repeated offences or health risks or just total failure
Despite what angsta states, it’s clear from reading through his posts that angsta supports the free FreePalestine movement.

You enjoyed the food you ordered.
You did not read the menu when ordering and did not ask for fries.
You wanted something they were out of stock.
So you write " I was very disappointed with the food and the service."
This is a crap way of joining a online forum by having a go at a small business that you "had read and heard a lot good things about the food."
Heed the prior advice on good news and bad news.
