10 Pakistani men taken into custody
Phnom Penh: On January 17, at 09:30 AM, 10 Pakistani male nationals were arrested at 99 A, Sangkat Russey Keo , Phnom Pehn, for staying in Cambodia illegally.
The Immigration police have taken the men to the Department of Immigration for questioning and appropriate action.

They were not arrested, but "invited" to answer some questions. That probably means that their papers were in order.
The police chief says this normal procedure for foreigners. Has anyone here ever been asked to step down to the station to show valid documents like this ?
Pakistan is one of the few countries whose passport holders are not eligible for a VOA. (Visa on arrival.)
Pakistanis questioned over residency status

The Immigration Bureau of the Municipal Police on Wednesday took 10 Pakistanis living in the same apartment in Russey Keo district in for questioning over their legality of their residency status in Cambodia, according to the officials.
Toch Kimsong, the Russey Keo commune police chief, said the Pakistanis were only “invited” to the immigration offices to have their documents checked.
“This was not an arrest, please understand that. It was an invitation to them from the immigration office to have their residence documents checked for when they entered Cambodia,” he said.
“It is not certain if they have legal documents or not. That is why we use the word ‘invitation’,” he added.
Mr Kimsong said there were a total of 10 Pakistanis and they rented one apartment and lived together and appeared to be tourists.
