8 day loop from/to Phnom Penh??
8 day loop from/to Phnom Penh??
My wife and I are planning an 8 day loop vacation: Phnom Penh to Kampot, then to maybe Chau Doc/Can Tho/Ho Chi Minh, and then back to Phnom Penh. Any suggestions as to what to see, how long in each place, method of travel, etc? Thanks...

Too many places , too many km's, too little time.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.

I agree with Duncan
no matter how you travel you will struggle
even if you take night buses youll be too tired to utilise the days
where are you coming from and what have you already seen in Cambodia?

Maybe PP - Kep - Kampot - (Sihanoukville) - PP, even that is too much IMO.
You will spend lots of time in transportation.
Don't waste your 8 days

It's not impossible, but you'll be on buses most days.
Kampot > Cha Doc would require coming back into Phnom Penh, better to go to Ha Tien and spend more time in Vietnam.
Cambodia Angkor Air and Vietnam Airlines do daily flights Sihanoukville to HCMC, which would let you do a day trip, or overnight in My Tho without being stuck on buses every day.

How about PP then Kampot then Kep cross to Ha Tien stay Phu Quoc fly Saigon from there
If flights arr/dep from PP to wherever u are going then you could time a flight from Phu Quoc to connect with the Qatar Air daily flight from Saigon to PP - can be had for pretty cheap prices and flight time is about 20 mins lol on a mostly empty plane

Re: 8 day loop from/to Phnom Penh??
Or fly to Saigon from PP and do the return by road ? 3 days in Vietnam, 3 for Kep/Kampot, plus travel ?
Frankly, forget about SHV - its not in a good state right now. The beach is shit, unless you go to Otres, and there's construction everywhere.

Not enough time, like the others said.
Kampot, Kep. and Hatien and back
or Saigon, Cantho and Chau Doc and back.
That is enjoyable.
