Satellite Internet

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

As far as I am aware there is no satellite internet available..... yet.

4g or 3g will depend on what masts you have near your village. Satellite internet is 1 way. Your request for a page goes out over normal cable\telephone and the page itself is transmitted over sataelite. Not sure if anyone still uses them as we have moved on. I believ you can get routers now that will aggregate your 3g/4g and or normal line. So in theory if you got 2x 2mb sims you would get 4mb. Works best apparently if you have 2 different operators. https://www.patton.com/bonding-routers/bd004/

Not rock solid reliable, but niethe5is my smart connection in town. Whenever there's a power cut around BKK3, the Smart towers seem to go offline too.

Almost 3 times faster for my experience with temporary internet connection. Even if the connection is barely working a yagi antenna on a stick will give you full bars if you can get an unobstructed line of sight to the tower.
