Cambodia and China: Rewriting (and Repeating) History

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

So the poor/uneducated/unskilled (traders are not unskilled) are still poor/uneducated and unskilled?

I see it differently but then I’m an optimist.

Yeah, poverty is great fun.

Then there's a thing called reality, but don't bother yourself with that.

Not sure they measure IQ in inches, but as long as the value is double your last test result.

Resorting to personal attacks because someone disagrees with your views.

Which is why I don’t post on this unmoderated dead donkey forum.

Goodbye.

(Referring to reality)

What do you classify this as? Not an ad hominem? Rational discussion?

If you can't take it, don't start it.

Traders are skilled, LOL.

Yeah, I bet lost of them studied for moths to sell blow-up toys or 2nd-hand clothes outside markets.

Silly.

And what do you call this then?

I just wish it were almost any nation EXCEPT China taking over, it may be less militaristic for now, it will be worse in many ways
B.S.

The mainland Chinese are:

- not classy, some very rough
- sometimes quite rude, impolite
- often don't like the same things we like.

But they are not nearly as bad as the earlier Russians, Americans, or early colonial French.

The Chinese ARE helping. Because no one else will help them. Fair deal.

Something stable may come of this, too many variables changing to say good or bad.
Melvin Udall: Never, never, interrupt me, okay?

Not if there's a fire, not even if you hear the sound of a thud from my home and one week later there's a smell coming from there that can only be a decaying human body and you have to hold a hanky to your face because the stench is so thick that you think you're going to faint.

Even then, don't come knocking...Not for ANY reason.
