End of an era - Charlie Harper’s sold

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

the big empty block of land on the Kampot river front in the same block as Rusty Keyhole was just sold to Chinese- as was a $2 M deal in Kep last weekend according to rumour
LOTS of ineterest in Kep now
courl be a good time to sell, Rich
for sure- things will be getting less easy for the long noses in the not too distant future here
we are surplus to requirements now
our antics will pale in comparison to the misdeeds of mainlanders

i wonder how the small business people feel?
will they still find opportunity in the new environment?

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Nothing wrong with Roz’s grammar...and you’re in no position to correct her with the way you write.

You certainly are a pro douchebag though!!

If it's Harpers, it Harpers'.

If it's Harper, it's Harper's.

Feel free to use Charlie's harper's bar's sold's though.

After Tony passed away it was never going to be the same and this is from someone who had more than one major disagreement/argument with Tony. Unfortunately T**** was snapped up by a Shark in a feeding frenzy and to cross metaphors it soon became obvious who was wagging the tail.
Service deteriorated and customers were looked on as an in-convenience and the residents treated like s***. Still visiting daily because friends are living there,

A month ago some Khmer friends & I were remarking on how sour faced the main hostess was & placed it somewhere humerus within our conversation.
Even when Tony was alive the service sucked!
Though he was a smart man using social media to benefit his business & well placed considering the new order it would of just been a matter of time!
Oh & so much like other businesses there would of been so little to do to keep it up to a reasonable standard of longevity !!!

Of course. they can sweep up the shit the Chinese throw in the road, clean the hotel rooms and lick their masters bums on a regular basis. Lots of meaningful well paid employment to replace the family business. I said in another thread a while ago, could the Chinese invasion bring down the government, and what I hear on the street is that, apart from landowners and landlords, the Khmer are not tot happy about whats happening
