RESULTS: It's not easy to keep track of who is winning what, but Team Phnom Penh looks to be raking in most of the medals, followed closely by the Ministry of the Interior. Stay tuned.

2nd National Games: Phnom Penh Wins Most of the Medals

Up to May 27, Phnom Penh Municipality ranked first in terms of medals, according to the 2nd National Games Organising Committee.

Phnom Penh won in total 34 medals 15 gold, 12 silver and 7 bronze followed by the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Economy and Finance and Ministry of National Defence with 30, 10 and 8 medals, respectively, it underlined.

Sixty-three (63) out of 274 games of 27 sports have so far ended as of yesterday, it pointed out.

The 2nd National Games began since May 25 and will last until June 4 with the participation of 4,163 athletes from the 25 provinces and capital and the three above-said ministries.

The National Games are held every two years to prepare the Cambodian athletes toward the SEA Games 2023 to be hosted by Cambodia.

Thank you.

"Sepak takraw, Khmer: សីដក់, Sei Dak or kick volleyball, is a sport native to Southeast Asia. Sepak takraw differs from the similar sport of Footvolley in its use of a rattan ball and only allowing players to use their feet, knee, chest and head to touch the ball. It is soon to be included in Olympics 2022."
