Is nightlife dying in Cambodia?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Is nightlife dying in Cambodia?

Post by superferret »

I've been coming here for 8 years, and this year the changes are shocking.
Both in PP and Sihanoukville nightlife is a shadow of what it used to be. What the hell is going on?
Did you guys notice too?

Some of us have seen it rise. While I can’t speak for current PP situation, in SHV I went quieter well before it died. In any case and either location, it will hopefully rise and die again before I am departed.

Out here in Phoom taa s'oy it doesn't get worse, it doesn't get better. It just doesn't exist.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

The nightlife in PP definitely hasn’t died, it’s just changed.

Smelly grandfather village. An invention on my part to be sure. So many nowhere villages begin with "taa" that it's hard not to have some fun with them.

Really, I don't see that at all! Over the last few years the night life in Phnom Penh has really taken off and lots of new clubs opened. Nightlife in Phnom Penh is now "wall to wall" nightclubs. Heres a few to start with:

Epic https://www.facebook.com/EpicClubCambodia/

Beliza https://www.facebook.com/BelizaClub/

etc. etc. etc :D
